Cartographic research and remote sensing investigations within the Murighiol Archaeological Project (started in 2020) allowed the completion of the documentation with some records from the end of the 19th century: research on the Zaporozhian settlement in Dunavățu de Sus and a report and plans kept in the archives of the topographic engineer Pamfil Polonic. The results of their evaluation were corroborated with the results of the field projects dedicated to local resources and lithic materials used in the Roman strongholds in the area of the Dunavăț Promontory, making possible clarifications and corrections on the location of ancient sites and the archaeological research of the 20th century at Dunavățu de Jos and Dunavățu de Sus.
